Center4Tech Delivered a lecture on Smart Cities at OAU during IEEE Week

Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of Obafemi Awolowo University invited Center4Tech to come and deliver a lecture to students on their students awareness conference that took place on Friday, March 20th, 2015.

The aim of the event was to advance technology to humanity and to broaden student’s minds on what technology has done, and what we believe it can do. Representatives of different companies and staff of the school gave their point of view on how technology has impacted human lives.

The event organized by young professionals and students of the prestigious university was themed around “Smart cities” which featured industry guest speakers and exhibitors including;

Mr. Samauel Enoch-Ogene - TAHMO

Mr. Oloma Ibrahim - Center4Tech

Mr. Richards Boyewa - Sanwo

Mr. Femi Omoniyi - Topextra, and

Mr. Harry Enahoro - Mattaloids

Smart cities utilize readily available and emerging digital technologies to improve performance and well-being, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with its citizens. There is a myriad of ‘smart’ sectors which include energy, transport, health care, waste management, water… For easy understanding, Invited speaker had to delve into a particular sector of which Mr Ibrahim Oloma of Center4Tech delved into the transportation and Environmental Health. Mr Samuel Enoch-Ogene from TAHMO examined Green Energy and renewables for smart cities, just to mention a few.

Over 200 students, staff and industry personnel that attended the program were fulfilled and we at Center4Tech hope that the knowledge gained will be applied positively to improve our society and make our cities smarter.
